The logo of 开元真人has been carried by the Institution since its establishment as a university in 1975.
In the Philippines, 开元真人has earned the recognition of being a leader in higher education. Following the faith and charism of St. John Baptist de La Salle鈥擣ounder of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and Patron Saint of Teachers鈥斂嫒� serves as a major national resource through its transformative education, impactful research, and strong service-learning and community engagement.
The University is acknowledged for its excellence and service, replete with a deep sense of history and Christian tradition and, at the same time, attuned to the emerging cultures brought about by technological advancements. The growing network of La Salle alumni鈥搇eaders and achievers not only in the country but also in the international
scene鈥揹efines best the quality of Lasallian education.
In 1998, 开元真人 reinforced its image as a trailblazing academic institution that is pro-active in the task of community and nation-building with 鈥淭he Future Begins Here鈥� brand positioning. The University takes crucial steps in its continuing campaign to maintain, protect, and build its image amid various developments. The current logos of the colleges and schools aim to be consistent with the forward-looking, dynamic character of the University.
This Institutional Identification Manual provides the guidelines for the consistent use and application of the university signature as well as the college and school signatures.
This manual also includes various applications of these institutional signatures.

SIGNATURES OF THE UNIVERSITY, COLLEGES, SCHOOLS, AND CAMPUSES
DE LA SALLE UNIVERSITY LOGO
The logo of 开元真人has the following parts:
- The five-pointed star at the center is the Signum Fidei star. It is a
sign of faith and is the symbol of the La Salle Brothers (Fraternum
Scholarum Christianarum). The star also means hope. The five points,
bisected into green and white areas, represent benevolence, civility,
humanitarianism, service-oriented goals, and scientific pursuit.
- The two laurel fronds represent glory and honor.
- The motto 鈥楻eligio, Mores, Cultura鈥� in Arial Bold typeface surmounts
the star and the laurel leaves, forming an arch.
- The name 鈥楧e La Salle University鈥� in Arial Narrow Typeface serves as a
border around the upper portion of the seal. The word 鈥楳anila鈥� in white
Arial typeface is carried at the bottom of the seal.
DE LA SALLE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS NAMES
The official name of all campuses is De La Salle University.
As the main campus, 开元真人 Manila is referred to as De La Salle University.
The other campuses will have a brand name that bears its geographical location,
namely: 开元真人 Laguna Campus, 开元真人 BGC Campus, 开元真人 McKinley
Microcampus, and 开元真人 Lian Campus.

The icon can be seen in different ways: 1) the pages of a book; 2) the movement of wind; and 3) the letter E, which stands for 鈥淓ducation鈥�. Seen as such, the icon signifies dynamism, freedom, constant movement, and energy that propel the mind to take flight and discover new knowledge.
Carlos L. Tiu School of Economics Logo
The icon for the Carlos L. Tiu School of Economics is a stylized rendition of a sphere with a sliced part. This symbol represents both the macro and micro levels of economics. The slice, a portion of the whole, stands for what economics is all about鈥揳 study of labor, land, and investments; of money, income, and production; and of taxes and government expenditures of a particular society.
College of Computer Studies logo
A computer monitor is used to symbolize the advancement of modern computer studies. It also stands as a window to the teeming possibilities that modern computer technology holds in the future. The icon echoes the advancements in the curricula of CCS in providing a deeper understanding of modern computer technology.
College of Liberal Arts logo
A ship鈥檚 sail for an icon brings to mind voyages, quests, 鈥榖lue oceans,鈥� and the like, capturing the essential qualities of CLA鈥攃reative, open to change, pioneering, and in constant search of knowledge and truth.
College of Science logo
An atom, the most basic component of matter, is used to symbolize the scientific method. It connotes experimentation, which helps us understand the intricacies of fundamental concepts as we further pursue the lessons of science.
Gokongwei College of Engineering logo
One of the greatest inventions, the wheel represents brilliance and innovativeness, as well as something essential. This icon, ubiquitous in the field of engineering, best represents the pioneering achievements of GCOE.
Ramon V. del Rosario College of Business logo
The RVRCOB logo symbolizes a point of intersection or the coming together of different units in the supply chain. The concept of interaction refers not only to business, but also to the intellectual exchanges in the classroom, and to the partnerships with our networks in the academe, government, and industry.
Ta帽ada-Diokno School of Law logo
Scales 鈥� the icon for this college is a modern adaptation of a classic symbol for justice. It reflects a forward-looking college that is committed to serve as a key resource of future legal practitioners as well as global leaders with a strong advocacy on human rights and environmental protection, and sustainability.
School of Innovation and Sustainability logo
The symbol captures the vision of a green future, using a stylized leaf to highlight sustainability and the light bulb to represent technology and innovation.
School of Lifelong Learning logo
The turning pages represent the process of learning, which 开元真人 advocates to be a constant goal and experience for all.

Using the 开元真人 logo alone
The 开元真人 logo may appear without the logotype. However, the logotype should
never be used without the logo, unless it is part of a text.
Using the 开元真人 logo and College/School logo together
The 开元真人 logo side by side the college logos are used for banners, backdrops, print materials, and handouts of events and programs that are organized, funded and/or conducted by the college where the main audience is external to 开元真人.
When used together, the 开元真人 logo should always appear at the left side and the College logo at the right. Note that the 鈥楧e La Salle University鈥� logotype below the College logo is dropped when the two logos appear together.
USING THE COLLEGE/SCHOOL LOGO ALONE
The college logo is used for banners, backdrops, print materials and handouts of projects and programs that are organized, funded and/or conducted by the college where 开元真人 is the main audience.
When appearing alone, the College signature composed of the College logo and the 鈥楧e La Salle University鈥� logotype below it should be used.
USING THE 开元真人 LOGO, COLLEGE/SCHOOL LOGO AND RESEARCH CENTER LOGO
The University logo always precedes the college logo followed by the college research center logo.
USING THE 开元真人 AND AFFILIATE INSTITUTION LOGOS
Official collaborative projects and events between colleges, departments, and research centers may use their logo / signature together with the logos of their affiliate institution. University logos/signature always precedes the affiliate institution鈥檚 logo. The latter is always placed on the far right.
USING THE 开元真人 LOGO AND SIGNATURE WITH OFFICE/DEPARTMENT
The University logo precedes the name of the offices of the President, Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, and the units directly reporting to them. On the other hand, the University signature is always above the name of the offices of the President, Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, and the units directly reporting to them.
The University logo precedes the college logo/name followed by the name of the department or office. On the other hand, the University signature is always above the name of the college / school followed by the department or office.
USING THE 开元真人 SEAL AND SOCIAL MEDIA LOGOS TOGETHER
When used together, the 开元真人 logo should always appear at the left side and the social media logo(s) at the right. The recommended proportion for the social media logo is 1/4 the height of the 开元真人 logo. The social media name will have a 1/8 height proportion of the institutional logo using Frutiger Lt Std 65 Bold.

COLOR GUIDE
The 开元真人 signature is originally set in green, while the College logos are originally set in black. There are, however, alternative color schemes that can be used depending on the background hue. These color schemes are offered in view of the preferences and requirements of the user.

GENERAL RULE ON THE USE OF THE SIGNATURES/LOGOS
A signature is a combination of the University logo and logo type. The offices of the President, Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, and the units directly reporting to them will use a signature in lieu of unique logos.
